Return of the Virtual Writing Café

I’m unbelievably embarrassed to admit this, but I’ve been letting my own writing wither on the vine while I do other things. Most of them are good things, but they’re not actually writing, beyond my daily journaling practice and routine things like emails and social media posts.
What I've been wanting to do is start writing blog posts regularly again. (It's been quite a while!), Do you think I can do it? Nope.
Never mind that I help other people overcome obstacles so they can actually get their writing done. Never mind that since I work with neurodivergent entrepreneurs, I often find myself helping them with their blog posts. Never mind that I’m full of helpful suggestions and strategies and accountability for other people.
Do you think I can do it for myself? Nope.
And this, despite the fact that I’ve been meeting with not one but two business accountability buddies for the better part of three years.
So I'm setting myself a challenge:
Starting March 12 at 2 PM Eastern, for two hours, twice a month, I'm going to sit myself down with my cuppa Red Rose tea and write at least a draft of a new blog post or newsletter.
But I can't do this alone -- so I'm inviting you to join me!
Free coworking group
2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month, 2-4 PM
(more info here)
Your job:
- set the goal and bring your writing project and your own cuppa.
My job:
- create the structure
- run timers to produce a little bit of light pressure and give you an external deadline
- answer questions
- hold a container strong enough to help you get sh*t done, gentle enough to still be kind
You help me with my challenge, I help you with yours.
It's win-win!
(And did I mention it's free?)
If you’ve attended any of the monthly contemplative writing cafés I’ve hosted through Eventbrite over the past year or so, you’ll be familiar with some of what we’ll be doing.
I’ll offer a prompt for the first writing sprint of about 20 minutes. We can write together as a warm-up.
After a quick stretch break and a second writing sprint of about 30 minutes, we'll break for about 20 minutes, including time for discussion / Q&A.
Then it’s back to the page for the third and last sprint of about 35 minutes. Two hours of solid work time, no distractions.
Sound good?

I hope you’ll join me.
(Pssst! Did you notice the website link above isn’t for The Zen Pen? No? Look again.)
Changes are afoot
For the past year, I’ve been slowly building a writing coaching practice under the name ADHD Writing Coach. I help neurodivergent entrepreneurs (and other such creative adults) figure out how to get stuff written when they find writing so hard it's almost physically painful.
The idea of this coworking group came out of wanting to offer my coaching clients a chance to get their writing done with a little bit of support outside a 1:1 coaching session.
I'm also re-starting the blog / newsletter on the ADHD Writing Coach website.
Future emails will be coming from coach (at) adhdwritingcoach (dot) com.
The newsletter will shift focus to topics concerning writing and ADHD. I’m sure it will include stories from my own life because of course it will. I’ll be addressing writing issues, sharing strategies, discussing what works for me and what doesn’t. (SPOILER ALERT: “just sit do it” doesn’t. Neither does "do this hard, awful thing for an hour and you can have a cookie at the end of the week." Um, no. Dopamine first, then the hard thing.)
I hope you'll join me on this journey, writing together to help both of us get our writing done.
I sure hope to see you March 12 (or any other 2nd or 4th Tuesday afternoon)! Click here:
